IDENTITY & INTROSPECTION

This theme looks at identity as something that takes shape rather than something given. Raimondo starts from pen sketches made in everyday life, outside any artistic intention: marks that come before thought has decided what to say. Returned to and reworked over time, they become faces, figures and abstract structures. The portraits here, drawn from photographic references of real models, belong to the same process. Here abstraction and figure are not separated: both show a self that forms, layer by layer, and never quite settles. What the viewer recognizes is not fixed in the work. It happens in the encounter, where one person's introspection meets another's.
